The Position
Volunteer Math Lab Tutors are model students who provide drop-in math tutoring to undergraduate students. They offer holistic support for a variety of math courses, taking a student-centered approach to tutoring.
Requirements
- Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good standing with the University
- Earned an “A” in the courses you can tutor
- Exhibit a passion for student success and an enthusiasm for education
- Exhibit good people skills as well as excellent communication skills
- Availability to work 4-15 hours each week
- Availability to work some evening and weekend hours
- Ability to tutor through Calculus II (MATH 1720) is preferred OR ability to tutor MATH 1180/1190 or MATH 1680 is preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Conducting drop-in tutoring in the Math Lab and Virtual Math Lab
- Answering e-mail and Teams correspondence within 24 hours
- Assisting students in finding tutors or resources as needed
- Attending all trainings and meetings as directed by your supervisor
- Creating PowerPoints and video content
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
